The Berns:
The Berns are an Ottawa-based indie rock band who make original guitar-driven, and genre blending soundscapes matched with contemplative songwriting. Their debut EP 'On the Run' was released in March of this year, and the Berns are presently working on a follow up LP 'At the Beach' which follows inspiration from other genre-blending artists such as The Ventures, Mapeche, Surf Hat, Little Barrie to name a few.
Run Coyote:
Run Coyote is a rock’n’roll / western noir band from Toronto and London, Ontario. The band soundtracks the fatal affairs of late-night lovers and the adventures of downtown cowboys through twangy guitars and dynamic arrangements and rhythms. Known for their dramatic and engaging live show, Run Coyote mixes “surf rock and western swagger” to “create sounds that might be a sync license in a vintage Hollywood silver screen picture” (Ian McFarland, It’s Not Records). The band has been compared to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Talking Heads, and David Lynch.
Run Coyote’s new release – ‘Songs to Run to’ – features a more personal side of Sam Allen’s songwriting, set to the biggest rock’n’roll music the band has released yet. The new EP features already-live-favourites “Alligator” and “The Detectives Took My Baby!”
Leeny Jones:
Leeny Jones is a singer-songwriter based in Gatineau, QC. Born and raised in the small town of Chapeau, QC, deep in the Ottawa Valley, Jones' music and sound are strongly influenced by the country-folk roots of her upbringing mixed with her spunky attitude. Like many artists, Jones uses music as an emotional and creative outlet, to move through life’s challenges and heartbreaks, as well as its beauty. Whether she is singing about her everyday musings of life in Gatineau, grief and loss, or the frustration of not being able to get your bike repaired in a timely fashion due to Covid supply-chain issues, she always ties it together with that — literal and figurative — twinkle in her eye.
