Girls+ to the Front with Host Kristine St. Pierre and S/G Krista Hartman & Loch Nisse Monster
PWYC
Girls+ To The Front w/ host Kristine St-Pierre feat. Loch Nisse Monster and Krista Hartman
Loch Nisse Monster...
From the swamps of a 70’s-themed house party to Canada’s indie stages, Loch Nisse Monster tells stories with a mix of alternative folk and indie rock. Drawing comparisons to Lucy Dacus, Angel Olsen, and Stevie Nicks, Nisse’s craftful lyricism brings unconventional emotional truths to life. Loch Nisse Monster has been featured on CBC and is a favourite on CKCU radio, and in the local festival network. Her song Fog in the Window was the recipient of an honourable mention from the Carleton Poetry & Songwriting Competition in 2023. In June, Loch Nisse Monster followed up the with her debut album, Forensis. The concept record is based on a the journey of a crime scene as a metaphor for a breakup.
Krista Hartman...
Krista Hartman is a cinematic alt-country songwriter whose music drifts between introspection, wanderlust, and storytelling. Born and raised in Canada’s North Country, she grew up singing vintage country songs around midnight campfires with her musical family. Inspired by Neil Young, she secretly penned her own songs. Songwriting became her golden key to make sense of the world. Years of solo travel, busking, and performing abroad shaped her poetic voice and timeless sound — blending alt country with folk, she performed and collaborated with countless other artists on stage. With four albums and a duet with Ron Sexsmith, Krista continues to craft songs that feel like postcards from the heart.
Kristine St-Pierre...
Soulful folk with a country kick. Kristine St-Pierre sings about love, detours, and betting on yourself. The ‘chansonnière au coeur voyageur’ weaves together a rich blend of folk, roots and country music, captivating listeners in English and French. She received a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for her album La promesse and she was named Francophone artist of the year by the Country Music Association of Ontario in 2025.
Her fourth album, Love & Vulnerability, released in 2024, is described "as a magnificent blend of folk, pop and roots with impressive songwriting and song craft." New music is on the horizon, including a cross-Canada collaboration with Edmonton artist Krista Hartman, and a new album co-written in Nashville and Toronto and produced by Canadian producer Douglas Romanow.

Morgan Davis
Morgan Davis grew up in Detroit during the 1950's, absorbing the music of the times - early rock and roll and rhythm and blues, along with the beginnings of the Motown sound. In 1962, his family moved to California, where Davis completed high school and then became heavily involved in the anti-war movement.
In 1968, Davis moved to Toronto, Canada, where he began to seriously study the music he loved - early country blues. He took every opportunity to see many touring blues players during the late 60's and 70's - Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, James Cotton, Booker White. He began playing professionally in 1970, and through the kindness and generosity of artists like Sunnyland Slim and Johnny Shines, Davis learned from and played with these giants of the blues. After Howlin' Wolf passed away, Davis had the chance to back up Wolf's guitar player of 25 years, Hubert Sumlin. Over the years he has backed up and opened for Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Albert King, Dr. John, Eric Bibb and John Hammond.
Davis is a solo artist, interpreting the blues with a respect for its' traditions as well as writing contemporary blues. He plays electric guitar, slide guitar, and 3 string cigar-box guitar. He tours constantly and plays over 200 dates a year across North America and Europe.
In 2004, Davis was awarded the JUNO - Canada's Grammy - for Blues Album of the Year.
2026 will mark Morgan's 56th year on the road playing the blues. He fully expects to be on the road for the rest of his life, playing the music he loves.
